Kathmandu, Bagmati province - WHO Country Office for Nepal convened a partners dialogue focused on strengthening Primary Health Care (PHC) performance management to accelerate progress toward Universal Health Coverage (UHC) on 12 June. The interaction was attended by three layers of WHO (WHO Headquarters, WHO South-East Asia Regional Office and WHO Country Office for Nepal), UNICEF, UN-Habitat, World Bank, FCDO, selected local partners and academia. Participants shared perspectives on current PHC performance management approaches and exchanged knowledge informed by global, regional, national and sub-national experiences, and discussed the need for context-specific PHC performance frameworks, tools and indicators. UNICEF shared on the emerging landscape of community health workers in Nepal, while Nick Simons Institute highlighted minimum service standards scoring approaches. The feedback gathered during the dialogue will inform future work on advancing PHC performance management in Nepal.
